Thatto Heath Crusaders flexed their muscles in Saturday’s featured game in the Betfred Challenge Cup Round One.
Crusaders welcomed Seaton Rangers in front of the BBC cameras and it took the hosts less than a minute to opening the scoring.
Thatto Heath ran in 44 points in the first half, before adding a further 34 in the second to complete a 78-10 success against the Cumbrian opposition. Victory secured their Thatto’s place in Round Two, where they will face local side Widnes Vikings.
Elsewhere, down the road, Blackbrook progressed after defeating GB Police 52-6.
Hunslet ARLFC defeated fellow Yorkshire based side York Acorn, in the only fixture taking place in that county. Their 48-6 victory means they will travel to the Fox’s Biscuits Stadium in Round 2.
It proved to be a tough afternoon for the Forces, with the Royal Navy and British Army both being defeated. The Navy suffered home defeat to Hammersmith Hill Hoists, meanwhile the Army conceded late which confirmed their defeat to West Warriors.
Oldham St Annes were unable to make an Oldham derby in Round Two, after they lost to Orrell St James 34-0.
The other eight fixtures scheduled for Saturday were postponed due to the weather and are set to take place on Saturday 17 January.
